This project amalgamated 3 secondary schools into a 2100 student super school. A Schools Within Schools (SWIS) pedagogy resulted in 7 individual buildings clustered around a central agora, each envisioned as an individual school within a larger campus.

Each houses 300 students, has its own staffroom, teaching facilities and corresponding outdoor “home area” with landscaped learning and recreation spaces linked to the building.

The master plan aligned each SWIS for passive surveillance of the common areas for flexible use by the teachers and students.

The hard paved areas will ultimately be shaded by the long term commitment to establishing a tree canopy.

This project received an AILA Victoria Design Award in 2011.
