End Client: Monash University
Date: Completed 2009
Project value: $2M

A new entry forecourt within the historical Systems Garden containing rare and specialised plant communities prompted a redesign of this critical green space in the heart of the science precinct. The garden was originally designed and constructed over half a century ago as the Monash Botanic Garden and used as a teaching tool for the School of Botany as well as a beautiful garden for rest and recreation.

The Systems Garden links the Campus Centre with the new Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP) that has significantly developed the western side of the Campus. Outlines administered the construction works to the forecourt of STRIP, a promenade linking the new science and technology buildings on a north/south axis. Custom furniture was designed and constructed, and the use of native foothills species in the Aboriginal garden coordinates with the planting in the Systems Garden.
