PROJECT: MOOROOLBARK STATION AND COMMUNITY HUB
project detail
End Client: Metro Trains Melbourne, Public Transport VictoriaArchitect: Outlines
Date: 2012-2014
Engineer: Hyder Consulting
Specialist Consultant: Hyder Consulting
Outlines worked in conjunction with Hyder Consulting to design the station as a community hub with improved safety and amenity for the community and public transport users.
The station forecourt has been designed to create a direct and accessible entrance to the station from Brice Avenue and the pedestrian crossover, incorporating new amenities such as a café and communal space.
A versatile community space activates the station forecourt, with capacity for events or passive recreation. The station entrance canopy has a lacy screen with a fern leaf motif that references the cool foothills environment of Mooroolbark.
